I LOVE reading blogs just like all of you. One of my fav blogs First Grade Parade is having a “Meet the Teacher Party”!!!! First off, here’s a little bit about me…
I am from New York. I lived there 30 years. Now I live in Colorado, where believe it or not, the weather is way better, esp. winter. Also, the cost of living is much less than the NYC metro area.

I have been married for 16 years. We have 2 children who are ten and eleven. If you are wondering, neither were planned. Our first born is a product of invitro after 5 years of infertility. Second one came along without trying and while breastfeeding. What lies about breastfeeding being birth control.
I started teaching in 1992. 3 years of special ed, 4 years of kindergarten, 2 years of a 1/2 split, 1 year as literacy specialist, and this is my 6th year in first grade.
I took a few years off somewhere in there when my cherubs were infants. I also worked as a early intervention specialist for states of NY and NJ primarily working with toddlers with autism.
I graduated from the State University of NY at Binghamton {SUNY) undergrad and Univ of CO for Masters. When I’m not blogging here, you can find me posting about my life at Autism Mom I love coffee, tea, gardening, italian food, traveling, spending time with my family and I LOVE Jesus.
Now for the Q & A
Q: What would you be doing if you weren’t a teacher?
A: I would love to travel and write about places I've been. Otherwise I would be working with at risk children or running a non profit for people with disabilities.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Gardening, reading, dreaming, hiking
Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: a teacher
Q: What are your guilty pleasures?
A:Online shopping and Facebook- although I have cut that down a lot.
Q: What is your biggest fear?!
A: Fire. As a daughter and sister of NYC firefighters, fire just terrifies me.
Q: When you’re on vacation, where do you like to go?
A: HAWAII but I would love to go to Tahiti
Q: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
A: Be truthful and live so you do not regret anything. You do not want to look back and said you should've.
Q: What do you value most in others?
A: Honesty. I can deal with the truth-- so please tell me.
Q: If you could choose one of your personality traits to pass down to your kids, what would it be?
A: Determination or resilience
Q: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world….living or dead…who would it be?
A: Jesus
Now tell us one random thing about yourself:
I've traveled across Europe from England to Egypt over many months with just a backpack.
Now it’s time for YOU to join the party!!!! Here’s what you need to do: Write a post titled “Meet The Teacher”. Start with a brief “biography” and then copy & paste the Q&A {using your answers, of course!}

ReplyDeleteHi! I'm visiting from The First Grade Parade meet the teacher. I forgot to list gardening as one of my hobbies. I absolutely love to work in my yard when it's spring. So relaxing. Tahiti sounds wonderful right about now. It's crazy cold (I'm a Texan so nothing compared to what you are used to) where I'm at. Great Q&A. Nice to meet you :)
