Meet the Teacher

Activities for the New Year PLUS a Freebie!

I love the new year!  It is a time to wipe the slates clean and start anew.

Who doesn't love a fresh start?

I have lots of activities to help you ease back to teaching and remind students why we are in school that I am so excited to share with you!

My original New Year's product is still going strong.  What I love about this is the unique, "Toast the New Year" bulletin board.  It is so different than all the others.

Who knew toast could be so stinking cute?

Do you make New Year's resolutions?  It can be tricky with our young learners.  I've created this activity to help our babies make resolutions.

There are two different flip books that allow you to differentiate.

Students write about what they want to try, improve and learn.  It's all positive!  This language is easy for our littlest learners to understand.

Once students complete the flip book, it's time to make the craft.

Do you like to teach about a Growth Mindset?  The new year is a wonderful time to implement or review a Growth Mindset.  I've created two activities to help you do just that.

What I love about this pack is that it can be used in ANY grade or class.  There are seven different student banners so you can differentiate based on what you teach or abilities.  Students write a goal for the new year on the banner and decorate.

You can hang these banners around your classroom to remind your students what they are working toward.  These growth mindset goal banners really help students remember exactly why they are in school!

The second activity is Growth Mindset Flip Books and Craft.

January lesson plans; primary grades

This pack not only has four different flip books to allow for differentiation but an easy craft to go along with it.

Also included in this pack are growth mindset posters and anchor charts to use before you complete the flip books.  This is great for a review or introducing a growth mindset.

You will love all of these!
They are so easy to use. Just print and teach!
They all include differentiated versions so you can easily modify for your students.
Your students will be so motivated by these seasonal activities that they will be excited to use them!
They all look great on display and you can put up a bulletin board of any of these in minutes!

I would also love to share with you this little freebie.  It would make a great New Year's bulletin board!

I hope you found some useful activities for your classroom!  What are you doing in your classroom for the new year?

  1. Hello! I downloaded your end of the year slideshow, which I love, but I don't know how to print just the last slide exactly the right size to go in the DVD cases. Can you help? I'm printing them, and they're too big for the case.
